Group shows there's life after prostitution

Unknown | 9:08 PM | | | | Best Blogger Tips

As the night grows older, this part of the city becomes more alive.
Women in low-cut, body-hugging clothes start appearing on the streets of Quezon City's red light district. Some make their move on potential customers.
Also in the area are other women dressed more conservatively in jeans and shirt. They are not around to earn money for the night. Belonging to Bagong Kamalayan Collective Inc. (BKCI), they have come to talk to their scantily clad "sisters" about their rights and to try to inspire them to rebuild their lives.
Liza Gonzales, recounting the scene to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, knows what life is like in the red light district. She was once one of those scantily clad women working in that neighborhood.

Sisters: We don’t mind sleeping with men for money

Unknown | 8:53 PM | | | | Best Blogger Tips

LURED by the prospects of easy money, three sisters have no qualms living life as “call girls”.
The siblings told Metro Ahad how they enjoyed being in the company of rich men who were willing to fork out at least RM300 to satisfy their desires.
Aiza (not her real name) said she started her wild lifestyle at the age of 17 when she hooked up with an 18-year-old son of a wealthy businessman.
“We would meet up every weekend and he would give me RM200 each time. That amount of money was a lot for a teenager like me,” said Aiza, now 26.
She also said she heard about a sex video of someone resembling herself which had leaked out in public. However, she said she had no idea about its source as she had “slept with countless number of strangers”.

'Hostesses' in Boat Quay openly soliciting

Unknown | 8:32 PM | | | | Best Blogger Tips

SINGAPORE - Circular Road at Boat Quay is fast becoming a red-light district. In a short span of one year, 15 new nightclubs with names like Kriselle and Mambo 5 have opened in the area.

During the evenings, sexy hostesses exposing their bras and bearing their legs in short skirts and fishnet stockings can be seen soliciting openly outside these nightclubs. Some call out alluringly to passer-bys with affectionate names like "darling", tempting them to "come in for a drink, you won't regret it". Some even resort to using force to drag them into these clubs.

It's not A-G’s powers, it's Gani Patail: Charge him, says ex-cop

Unknown | 8:13 PM | | | | Best Blogger Tips

KUALA LUMPUR - Taking away the Attorney-General's power to prosecute will not stop abuses of power, a former senior police officer said today.
Former Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Mat Zain Ibrahim said that there was nothing wrong with the functions of the A-G as defined by the Federal Constitution, and charged that it was Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail (picture) who had abused his powers as the current A-G “several times over.”
“We should not blame the Constitution. It’s the honesty of the person holding the post that matters.
“Even if we were to separate the functions of the A-G and the PP, there are no guarantees that either one or both of them will not abuse their powers,” Mat Zain wrote in an open letter to The Malaysian Insider.

Sex, Sex, Sex, is this all Umno knows; Blackmail ahead of Sarbaini verdict?

Unknown | 5:14 PM | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

It looks like the Pakatan Rakyat opposition may be right. Umno is really starting to lose it. Its traditional Malay electorate is beginning to see the party as it is and no longer as it was.

In the past due to its awesome power, Malays flocked to join the party, hoping to tap into its huge gravy train. Spurred by the racial politicking of the top Umno leadership, many ordinary Malays stayed on in the party, even though they knew they were unlikely to make it to the higher ranks. Total membership is said to number 3 million these days, the largest political grouping in the country.
But that may have been the peak for the Malay nationalist party. Not only have Malays become more emancipated by education, many are beginning to feel disgust in place of the trust they once held.

Dozens join in nude protest

Unknown | 4:52 PM | | | | Best Blogger Tips

Several dozen men and at least one woman took part in a naked protest in San Francisco, United States.
Several of them carried signs that read, "Nudity is Not a Crime" and "Get Your Hate Off My Body," as they milled around, undeterred by the brisk weather and light mist in an area of the Castro District neighborhood on Saturday.
San Francisco generally allows public nudity, but a city supervisor has proposed regulating the practice.
Supervisor Scott Wiener's proposal would require the clothing-averse to cover up in restaurants.

Show’s over, folks.
Hotel guests taking a dip at the luxurious Marina Bay Sands (MBS) integrated resort in Singapore will now be spared having visitors lingering and ogling at their half-naked bodies.
The resort will now provide optional guided tours for non-hotel guests that include a brief stop at the pool atop its 57th storey SkyPark, the highest outdoor pool in the world.
The SkyPark, which offers stunning views of the city skyline, attracts up to 2,750 visitors daily.
But from Monday, there will be three such tours daily, with 50 people on each 15-minute tour.
The entry fee is $20 for an adult. Those who do not sign up for the free tours will not get to see the 150m swimming pool.
Visitors can sign up for the tours - held at 11am, 2pm and 8pm daily - at the ticket counter.
Up till now, non-hotel guests who pay to go up to the SkyPark have been allowed to linger at a portion of the pool on weekdays. But hotel guests had complained about the crowds and a lack of privacy.

Sometimes, the syndicates also offers 'Thai tom yam soup', 'Cantonese fried noodles' and 'Indonesian spicy prawn' to their customers.

The SMSes state that the customers have only 45 minutes to "taste the food".
According to the SMSes, the women would be delivered to their customers once they receive the orders.
Most of the women were said to be below 25 years old.

Lamborghini up in flames after warm up

Unknown | 2:52 AM | | | Best Blogger Tips

KUALA LUMPUR - All he wanted to do was to get the Lamborghini 'warmed up' - to keep it in tip top condition.
But no sooner had the car revved up, that things went wrong - so wrong that the Lamborghini Gallardo, costing over RM1mil (S$409,000) , went up in smoke.
The car burst into flames along Jalan Beringin in Bukit Damansara at 11.50am Friday.
"I was driving up a slope when I noticed smoke coming out of the engine," said the car owner, who'd rather stay anonymous. He stopped at the side and got out.
"I had the car for three years and it was heartbreaking to see it go up in flames," the man, in his 30s, said. He suspects a fuel leak to be the culprit.
Firemen who arrived minutes later could not save the car much except for the front portion.
The Italian-made Gallardo is powered by a V10 engine and has the capability of reaching speeds of 300kmh.

WANT bigger breasts but shy away from the idea of surgery? Thailand claims to have the answer.
Already famous for its medical tourism services - including cheap breast implants - Thailand is promoting a “body slapping” technique that it claims can boost breast size, according to a video by the Bangkok Post.
It has even licensed one beauty shop in Bangkok to perform the non-surgical treatment, which involves kneading, massaging and hitting of the breasts, as well as buttock-slapping to firm the rear.

Can win-ability save Umno?

Unknown | 2:20 AM | | | Best Blogger Tips

KUALA LUMPUR - To their Umno and MCA patriarchs, Datuk Mad Aris Mad Yusof and Michael Tay are small fish. One is a former assemblyman while the other is only branch chief.
But their small significance in the party is in inverse to their public profiles. Mad Aris is a four-term, undefeated assemblyman of Chempaka, in Selangor. His last winning record was in 2004, where he got 6,055-more votes than the PAS candidate.
Tay, meanwhile, has fashioned a reputation for being the “Michael Chong” of Johor MCA. He appears almost every week in newspapers where he highlights cases that the cops, local councils and even “wakil rakyat” can’t resolve.
Despite storied service records in their communities, both have and could again be passed over as election candidates of their respective parties. But this could change if Umno president and Barisan Nasional chief Datuk Seri Najib Razak has his way.Najib wants the BN parties to choose candidates based on their ability to win in an election. The approach sounds logical and simple enough but in actuality hits at the core of how BN parties function.
At least for the past 30 years, candidates have always been chosen among a party’s senior middle-ranking officers. Either the division, deputy or vice-chiefs or the leaders of their women or Youth wings.

Now, Najib says hudud is PAS' way to gain attention

Unknown | 1:34 AM | | | | | Best Blogger Tips

The hullabaloo over the Islamic state and hudud agenda raised by PAS spiritual leader PAS Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat is nothing more than repeating an old issue for the sake of gaining attention, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
The prime minister said PAS took the stance after it was severely criticised over outlandish remarks made by its deputy president, Mohamad Sabu for hailing communist insurgents as warriors instead of the police in the Bukit Kepong carnage.
"I see this as tactical for PAS got a tremendous blow after Mohamad Sabu's uncalled for statement in ridiculing nationalist fighters, who were killed in the massacre. It had caused insurmountable anger among the Malays.
